Blackjack Tips For Better Play
It is amazing what a simple application of strategy can do for any player playing almost any game. This is particularly true in blackjack. With a little application of some basic blackjack strategy, a player can greatly increase his or her ability to win money. While advanced blackjack techniques are actually quite difficult, applying simple strategies do not require a lot of advanced calculations or anything more than a bit of memorization and practice.
The first thing to understand when playing blackjack is that the total number of cards with a value of ten in the deck is greater than any other. In a standard deck, there are sixteen different cards with a value of ten. Those sixteen cards being the four tens, four jacks, four queens, and four kings respectively. As such, the most likely card you are going to see when you take a hit is a ten. This means that hitting with a total of twelve or greater has a good probability of busting you. Fortunately, this goes the same for the dealer and if the dealer is showing a card below a six, you will probably be able to pull out a win with the dealer busting. Another important part of basic strategy is to properly use your double down and split options to the best of your ability. Basic splitting like always splitting aces, never splitting tens, and doubling down on fives will help to increase the number of hands you win as well as the amount that you win.
